Al Gerber – Boogie Woogie Rhino Brian Tremblay
Alan Gerber was a member of the ’60s and ’70s super group, Rhinoceros. The band was assembled by Paul Rothchild, the famed Doors producer, and the colourful Frazier Mohawk. Alan has played Sault Ste. Marie before and is a fantastic boogie-woogie style player. We talk about the first recording he made while he was in high school, under a subsidiary of Chess Records, the recent single he recorded with former members of Rhinoceros, his time in Laurel Canyon, and playing his songs for Joni Mitchell. Of course, we talk his connection with Sault Ste. Marie’s Tim Ryan and Bob Yeomans of Jackson Hawke.
