Sev’s Cellar – Lorrie Lynn theBorderline
(This conversation took place in June of 2020.)
Lorrie Lynn is a small town girl with a big time passion for writing and performing self-penned originals. Born and raised in Sault Ste Marie in Northern Ontario, Lorrie Lynn is a soulful vocalist, lyricist and rhythm guitarist.
Lorrie Lynn credits her Grandpa Jule in laying the foundation of her musical influences, playing and listening to the classics from such legends as Hank Williams Sr. and Ferlin Huskey. The great Hank Sr. tune, “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” was the first song that she learned how to play. That was just the beginning and then her parents, aunties and uncles introduced the young girl to good-old rock and roll, folk and blues.
“Obsession” was a local favourite band she fronted for a number of years, gigging in the Soo and area. For Lorrie Lynn, that journey brought her to a place where the time had arrived to pursue her personal goals and dreams of becoming a solo artist. Like everything she had been taught and had learned, she threw her heart into her new career decision. Lorrie says, “music needs soul” and she pours hers into everything she writes and performs.
Influenced by the honest lyrics in classic country, the stories of folk music and the crying, sorrowful blues, Lorrie Lynn’s music brings a classic country based Americana sound, that she makes hers.
Like many Country music lovers , Lorrie has a passion for both emotional songwriting and true old fashion country sounds. The greats such as Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Waylon Jennings, Lorretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, John Prine and more.
She has released two albums, the first album is “HIGH ROAD” and the second album, “GHOST.” They are full of deep, earthy, classic country melodies mixed with blues, and lyrics that are true to life. Lap steel, harmonica, fiddles and “three chords and the truth”, it’s been said a lot but it makes for honest, relatable songs!
“I have songs in me. I need to keep writing or I feel I will explode. I hope to keep writing and performing as long as anyone will listen. Music communicates better then anything, it helps us all to share common ground. It’s memories, it’s moods, it’s healing. Hope I can give someone that in a song or two. Bring on the music.”

“SEV’S CELLAR” // with Sev Micron
A classically trained musician with a penchant for the punk music. Sev has played in numerous bands, on keyboards, drums and voice. Tulpa, with John Bottomley, holds a special place and so do the rock punkers, Throbbin’ Hoods. Sneaking up on 40 years of experience in a variety of mediums, Sev Micron engineers Muzicare Productions and has produced a good number of indie artists. Songwriting is another of Sev’s many and considerable talents.
And it wouldn’t be right to not mention that Sev loves animals, dogs especially (hi Bella), and that cooking is a forte! Peace and love are big fans, too.
