The Sault Community Theatre Centre (SCTC) is currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals interested in working as Summer Camp Counsellors for its upcoming Summer Children’s Theatre Camps this July and August.
SCTC’s summer camps introduce young participants to the performing arts through acting, music, dance, and creative theatre activities. The program is designed to help youth build confidence, creativity, and teamwork while exploring performance in a supportive and engaging environment.
SCTC is particularly interested in hearing from applicants who enjoy working with children and youth and who have experience or interest in theatre, music, dance, or other performing arts disciplines.
These positions may be especially appealing to young people interested in the performing arts who are looking for a summer job that allows them to build leadership skills while sharing their passion for theatre with the next generation of performers.
Camp counsellors will assist with leading theatre games, movement activities, vocal warm-ups, creative exercises, and rehearsals, while also supporting general camper supervision and daily programming. Counsellors will help create a positive, inclusive environment where young participants can explore their creativity and develop performance skills.
These positions are temporary roles running for at least eight weeks during July and August. Some positions may be grant funded and only eligible to applicants under the age of thirty-one.
This posting is intended to collect resumes and gauge interest as SCTC finalizes staffing plans for the program. Final hiring decisions will depend on program needs and pending funding decisions.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their experience with theatre or the performing arts and their interest in working with youth, as well as confirmation as to whether or not they are under the age of thirty-one.
Applications can be sent to stratcoordinator@saultctc.ca.
