ART HUB of the Great Lakes @ Twist Gallery Toronto

theBorderline 1 October 2026

Background

There’s a natural light on the north shore of Lake Superior that invites creatives to explore their souls. The artistic expression that follows touches the souls of those that lay eyes on the works. It has always been that way.

The Art Hub Of The Great Lakes Show & Gathering features a collection of such paintings. This event happens in Toronto from November 4 – 28, 2026 at the Twist Gallery. The opening night gala date is November 5, from 6 to 9 pm..

An eclectic group of working artists from the Sault and Algoma, influenced by its spectacular setting, will feature approximately 100 wall-hung artworks. All pieces will be available for viewing and purchase at Twist Gallery and Event Venue at 1100 Queen West in Toronto’s foremost art centric neighbourhood.

Fifty artists will participate in this first-of-a-kind exhibition. Artworks include oil paintings, acrylic on canvas, alcohol ink, collage, photography, watercolour and mixed media. The art on display is as varied in its styles and visual themes as it is in the ages and backgrounds of each artist.

Artists include Aaron Alessandrini, Alison Huot, Amy Williams, Andrea Pinheiro, Aryo Barzan, Bella Blue, Brenton Ellis, Caroline LeBoeuf, Casey McGlynn, César Mutes Amorim, Cherie Ahvenniemi, Cheryl Thomas, Cindy Bradford, David Baldwin, Doug Bradford, Elizabeth Stewart, Ellen Van Laar, Errol Monchka, Felix Koshy, Gary McGuffin, Goldie Barzan, John Currie, Julia Lewis, Karen Nisbet, Kathleen McGuire, Kathy Godfrey, Ken Hagerman, Konrad Wojcik, Linda Ruscio, Mary Stevenson, Melanie Johns, Michael Devoni, Nancy Norman, Patricia Baker, Riley Greco, Rusty McCarthy, Sheri Minardi, Sherie Mackay, Stacey Ferguson, Taimi Poldmaa, Tammy Feigehen, Tania Taranuik-Caputo, Teri Paquette, Theresa Baic, Todd Fleet, Tom Sinclair, Tracy Currie, Viviana Vergara, Wendy Easterbrook, and the late Christopher Pollari.

The Art Hub of The Great Lakes Show & Gathering is presented by the ART HUB At Spring, in downtown Sault Ste. Marie and in association with The Borderline production and media company. Organizers, Marnie Stone and Adrian Vilaca, invite all to a showcase of quality expressions by Sault and Algoma creatives. This gathering in Toronto’s thriving art market is to celebrate the regional identity and distinct culture of the north country.

A number of the showing artists will be in attendance. Rusty McCarthy and Maja Bannerman are your musical co-hosts as they welcome a number of top Sault musicians to play. This is a licensed venue. Admission is free. All are welcome.
