St. Mary’s College has long been a respected high school in Sault Ste. Marie turning out countless successful graduates. SMC was established in 1956, moved to Wellington St. E at the site of the defunct Tech/Lakeway in 1987, and in 2015 built a new school on Second Line E.
Harvey Barsanti and Frank Sarlo were members of the school’s inaugural class. Harvey went on to become a teacher, coach, vice-principal and eventually, principal. Loris Pecile attended SMC in the 1960’s and then was a teacher and coach over a 35 year span.
