JACKSON HAWKE – Forever Soaring With The Hawkes (Part 1)

In the early 70’s, two great Sault musicians, Bob Yeomans and Tim Ryan, joined and founded the group, Jackson Hawke, going on to international success. In this episode, Brian presents a couple of cover versions of the band’s hit, ‘You Can’t Dance,’ including one by Ricky Nelson. He explores the origins of the band, the band bringing in another Saultite in Bob ‘Crow’ Clarke on drums, and he plays some of Tim Ryan’s solo work. You’ll hear the band’s version of Van Morrison’s ‘Into The Mystic’ that also did well for them. We learn the band was managed by a Sault native, Jim Zeppa.
