Jon Frolick – A Life In Music Adrian V
Jon Frolick attended Bawating High School in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, during the 1970s. Under the tutelage of Mr. Frank Elliott, it was there that the power of music as a working life took root. Of local fame, Jon drove the backbeat for the horn band, Pegasus. With graduation behind him he soon after made his way to Winnipeg where he carved out a professional career start in the music industry. Four years later, he made a move further west to Calgary and the music and the work just kept coming.
Now, a long-time resident of Canmore, Alberta, Jon is the drummer and vocalist with his popular dance band Suzie Q, since 1994. He also drums in the Jazz Plus Trio, and when requested as is often the case to play without the band, it’s “Just Jon”, solo musician.
Jon has now been a professional in the music industry for over 40 years, working primarily as a drummer leading two music groups that perform in the corporate entertainment market throughout North America. As a musician, he has extensive recording experience, and also offers drum instruction both as a private teacher and clinician.
It is a very impressive list of artists that Jon has recorded and/or performed with. Some of the names include Randy Bachman, Kim Mitchell, Steven Bell, Amy Grant, George Fox, and the legendary Tony Bennett.
Jon is a proud member of the American Federation of Music and a past president of the Calgary Musicians Association. He also works as a professional audio technician and instructor, providing support for concerts, festivals, conventions and community events throughout Canada and the U.S.
Running time: 48 minutes.
