Soo Film Festival will return to downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, for five days of movies September 16-20, 2026. Screenings will again take place at historic Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library, a Superior District Library. Dates and venues are subject to change.
Festival President Jason Markstrom: “There is tremendous filmmaking talent in The Great Lakes and we are proud to be a showcase for it. We anticipate another fantastic line-up for 2026.”
Documentary and all genres of fiction, feature and shorts, will be accepted online exclusively through FilmFreeway. The festival committee has set a no-fee early bird deadline of March 29. The regular deadline is May 10 and requires a $20 entry fee. Late entries must be submitted by June 1 with an entry fee of $25. The selected films will be announced the week of August 3.
