The Doc Talks Soo Greyhounds w. guests HARRY WOLFE & HEC POZZO theBorderline
Harry Wolfe set the standard for calling Soo Greyhounds play-by-play action from the team’s 1960’s Jr. A days into the OHL during the 1970s and ’80s, before calling it quits. He was also a radio broadcaster and station manager at CKCY, at one time hosting a sports talk program called Locker Room.
Hector Pozzo was a tremendous minor league player in the EHL, AHL and USHL for a number of seasons, from the late ‘1930s into the early ‘1950s, before retiring and getting into a highly successful minor hockey coaching career in the Soo.
On this edition, Harry Wolfe interviews Hec Pozzo, circa 1988, from the Locker Room.
Months prior to The Borderline Entertainment Network going on air with its radio stream & podcast+ station in February of 2020, we had met with Dr. George Shunock to discuss the creation of a podcast series in which he would co-host. The Doc agreed to the concept and we went to work recording. We were able to record three episodes before the advent of the Covid pandemic.
The show was called The Doc Talks Soo Greyhounds.
Dr. George Shunock is well known in Sault Ste. Marie, ON as the man who saved the Greyhounds. He continues to serve as Alternate Governor/Director for the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club.
