Michael Delfre is the President of the Sault Ste. Marie Museum as the Sault Museum is undergoing a resurgence in popularity. The current administrative team is guiding the city’s cultural lynchpin through a transformational vision to showcase the history-soaked city that is Sault Ste. Marie. The Museum is modernizing their approach to lead the way to invigorate an arts and culture sector in dire need of proper attention. It starts with grass roots education of the local populace. There is an incredible story to tell the world of a beautiful place and a creative people living at the heart of the Great Lakes.
The Sault Ste. Marie Museum in Ontario, Canada was originally built as a post office from 1902 to 1906. The building became a museum in 1982 when it was purchased by the City of Sault Ste. Marie. It is operated by the Sault Ste. Marie & 49th Field Regiment R.C.A. Historical Society.
