Oliver Dorian By The Sea – Oliver Dorian is a young boy who lives by the sea in a small fishing village called Brigus, in Newfoundland, Canada. He comes from a fishing family who depend on the mighty sea for much of their food and livelihood.
Oliver wonders how mighty the sea really is after seeing the effects of trash and garbage. But it is an encounter with an endangered blue whale called ‘Big Blue’ that makes Oliver realize just how fragile the sea really is.
A school contest helps Oliver find his voice and with his best friend Bo, he is able to tell others how we can protect the sea and its creatures. Oliver’s idea is something all of us can do for our planet and its waters.

Marytė Running is a Canadian author who resides in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada. She spends and enjoys the short Canadian summers nearby on St. Joseph Island, on Lake Huron. Marytė was born in England but through her ancestry, still has strong ties to Kilbehenny, Ireland and Ukmergė, Lithuania. Her stories are inspired by and written for her two grandchildren Elaina (Lainey) and Gavin Paciocco.
