Manda Freyman has been building community among women who ride for many years now. Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Manda started the Mountain Biking Exchange Club – the MTB Exchange – from her current home in Simcoe County, Ontario. A large group of the MTB Exchange lady shredders will be attending The SALTY MARIE Trails Fest, most of them riding the Algoma trails for the first time.

Founded by Manda Freyman, a passionate advocate for female ridership, our roots trace back to the trails of Simcoe County, where Manda began cultivating a culture of camaraderie and adventure among her local women cyclists.

Rise and brine! Welcome to Year 2 of The Salty Marie Trails Fest! JULY 27, 2024.

The Salty Marie aims to celebrate all things “trail.” The City of Sault Ste. Marie continues to expand its cycling infrastructure and this includes the incredible development at our home trails, located at Hiawatha Highlands. 

This festival includes races but make no mistake – this festival is not just for the competitive folks! The Salty Marie is a fun-fueled event for racers as well as cruisers and anyone looking to have a good time.
