Sarah McComb, delves into the art of creative non-fiction and some difficult subjects that come up when writing about the truth, with host Lisa Tucker.

Sarah is a writer from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and has a short story included in “150 Years Up North And More,” an anthology of non-fiction short stories about life in Northern Ontario. The anthology is told through through various perspectives – from both Indigenous storytellers and those who immigrated to Northern Ontario.
Sarah’s contribution to the anthology is ‘firmly rooted in Sault Ste. Marie.’ Her grandfather, along with a business partner, started up the New Toronto Hotel in the city’s west end in the 1930s. The establishment was located on the corner of James Street and Cathcart, next to where Spadoni’s Furniture sits today.

“150 Years Up North And More” was released in 2017 to commemorate Canada turning 150 years old. Edited by Karen McCauley and Laura Stradiotto, and with cover art by Sarah King Gold, this collection features the following established, emerging and new writers from Northern Ontario:
